Hugging a big wooden bear wrapped in a lovely scarf knitted for the North East Handspinners retreat  of 2014 in Maine. Can you tell I had a blast?

Hello and welcome to GabiSpins! My name is Gabi and this is a place for talking about the process and art of making yarn and the animals who give their fiber for us to make into lovely things to wear. I love to play with animal fibers, make yarn, knit, and teach people about how to make yarn. I have my own tiny flock of CVM sheep and a few angora rabbits. All my animals are cared for in a humane manner.

I post about twice a week on projects I am working on and the fun and frustrations of being a spinner of yarns while also being a mother, teacher, and wife. I may also talk about how practicing something on a regular basis to feed your need for creativity is a part of being an artist. There are also many great fiber events and farms in Maine that I will tell you about after I visit!

If you would like to join me on my fiber journey and talk more about yarn please subscribe to my page and join my e-mail list. Looking forward to chatting with you about the spinning world.
